Located in Chester County, Downingtown, Pennsylvania is approximately 33 miles west of Philadelphia. The town was originally named Milltown due to the number of mills along the Brandywine Creek. The town was officially named Downingtown in 1812 after the Quaker Thomas Downing. The movie released in 1958 called The Blob was filmed in Downingtown, featuring the Downingtown Diner which is now named Chef’s Diner.
